Anthropic is making a bold claim: the biggest hurdle in enterprise AI isn't model intelligence, but rather the fact that many still use AI in isolation. In an exclusive interview with VentureBeat, Scott White, Head of Product for Enterprise at Anthropic, unveiled the company's concept of "multiplayer AI": a shift from single-user chatbots towards AI agents that operate across teams, understand organizational context, and proactively engage in work without prompting.

This strategy gained momentum with the recent update to Anthropic's Claude Tag, its AI agent integrated into Slack channels. Now, Claude Tag can read context across entire conversations, improving its ability to intervene in discussions by approximately 30% when unprompted.

White considers this update a pivotal moment: the transition from AI as a tool for individuals to AI as a deployed organizational colleague. "Claude used to feel like your personal chief of staff," he stated, "Now Claude, in the context of organizational deployment, feels like the company's chief of staff."
